"Clark Cottage" at Walter Bay Farm

Perched on a hill over looking Ganges Harbour with panoramic views of the Channel Islands, Mount Baker, Sunset Point and the Ganges Spit , this north facing waterfront heritage house was originally built in the early 1900's and has been continuously updated. The house has two bedrooms and a beautiful sun porch that also can be used as a bedroom facing the water. The cottage is set on a 25 acre farm with fruit trees and pasture. Within a mile from the town of Ganges, yet because of the stands of Douglas fir and cedars the property offers privacy and serenity, as well as a few walking trails to enjoy the peacefulness of the West coast rainforest. Deer, mink, blue herons, geese, bald eagles, seals, otters, and many kinds of interesting plant life are visible on and from the property. From the patio enjoy the colorful sails of the sailboats leaving and returning from races at the nearby Sailing Club.

The house is approximately 1500 sq feet and has a modern kitchen with all amenities, convection oven, microwave and granite counters. The house is furnished in period antiques and kept authentic to its time. The kitchen eating area has a marvelous view and shares a large deck with the living room, perfect for relaxing and outdoor living. A portable gas barbecue is supplied. There are two bedrooms, one Queen in master bedroom, and one double in second bedroom, the sun porch has a double bed. Stereo, TV and VCR are included as well as a dining area which seats 6-8. The bathroom on the main level is a 3 piece with bath, no shower. A second bathroom with shower and laundry facilities is in the basement and can be accessed from outdoors. It also has a hide-a-bed. The cottage has city water not well water.

Adjacent to the cottage is a regulation tennis court. A short walk down hill there is a large waterfront sundeck connected to a dock shared with the neighbouring property. The dock has moorage and draft for up to 38 foot yacht. A small sandy beach area is available for kids on the 350 feet of waterfront. The spacious grounds around the cottage allow for badminton, horseshoes, boche, croquet, lawn bowling and darts.

2 - 4 people - $2,200 per week
5 - 7 people - $2,500 per week

Saturday to Saturday bookings only.

Prices are quoted in Canadian funds. Available for rent throughout the year. 

Considerations: This is an active farm. No smoking except outside. Parking for 3 cars only. Children and pets are welcome!  No cable for TV, TV meant for VCR purpose only. No fires permitted outside as per Provincial Fire regulations.
