Moonraker Moonraker is a modern open plan house built on an eight-acre site on Saltspring Island, and overlooks the sea and islands that form one of the most beautiful views in the world. Saltspring Island, in British Columbia, Canada is the jewel of the South Gulf islands. It is the largest of the islands and nestles close to the east coast of Vancouver Island. It is renown for its microclimate with long summers and autumn, mild winters and low rainfall. It has a community that specializes in being layback yet is thriving and strong with many artists, sculptures and musicians living there. The town of Ganges provides restaurants, bars and individual shops. There are no traffic lights, lots of small harbours and easy access to the Mainland and Vancouver Island. The 3800sf house with its 2200sf deck is designed to take full advantage of the wonderful views ranging from South of Vancouver and Mount Baker, to the many islands, which include the San Juan Islands that lie just within the USA, across to the seaway to the Pacific that divides Victoria, capital of Vancouver Island and the Olympus Mountains in Washington State.
